Expenses, income, invoicing, and more.
Manage your business accounting simply. Record expenses and income, and generate automatic financial reports.
Cretia's accounting keeps an orderly record of what comes in and what goes out of your business: every income entry is linked to the CFDI that backs it, and every expense to the receipt that justifies it, instead of living as a loose number on a spreadsheet.
To be clear about what this is not: Cretia doesn't file your tax returns with the SAT or calculate your annual return, and it doesn't replace your accountant. What it does is hand them clean, traceable data so they don't have to reconstruct your history from scratch every month or chase you down for receipts that should already be on file.
From invoice to accounting record
When you stamp an invoice from the invoicing module, that income shows up in your accounting automatically, already linked to the invoice's fiscal folio and other details, so you never re-type the amount by hand or risk it not matching what was actually stamped.
On the expense side, every record keeps the XML of the CFDI you received from the supplier, not just the amount you typed in. This matters because the XML is the legally valid tax document; the PDF is only its printed representation, and a photo or a screenshot won't hold up as proof if someone asks for it later.
Mexican law requires keeping accounting records and tax receipts for five years, counted from the date the corresponding return was filed or should have been filed (article 30 of the Federal Tax Code, CFF). Having those XML files organized and available for that whole period saves you from digging through old email folders, drives nobody checks anymore, or a computer that already died.
Reports show where the money went: how much came in from sales, how much went out by expense category, and what's left between the two, so you can make decisions about your business without waiting for your accountant to close the month and send you a summary.
If you want to see how these records connect to the electronic accounting the SAT requires, meaning the chart of accounts, trial balance, and journal entries, read this article on electronic accounting.
